New Cufflinks by Symbiotique!!
Menuki are ornaments
usually used in Samurai swords on the tsuka (sword handle) to fit into
the palm for a better grip. Menuki often display the amazing skill of their
maker and can be compared to pieces of jewelry, which is why we decided to use
them to create a unique set of cufflinks.
These originals from the Edo period (1615 to 1868) will be carefully
molded to create a pair of cufflinks. The Menuki will then be returned to their
owner in their original state for future use with a Samurai sword where they
belong. Most Samurai sword fittings convey strong meanings through their design,
as well as tales of Japanese society, and are often used as powerful lucky
charms related directly to the owner of the sword.
The Dragon Menuki represent humility, courage, strength and can ward
off evil spirits, which as you could imagine is well suited for a Samurai.
